HESPERIA, Ca. – The Hesperia man killed by an unlicensed teenage driver has been identified as 59-year-old Craig Sale.
At around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021, deputies from the Hesperia Station were dispatched to a three-vehicle traffic collision at Choiceana Avenue and Yucca Street. When they arrived they found three vehicles, a 2020 Kia Sportage, a 2008 Honda Civic and a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, all which sustained major damage. The driver of the Tahoe, a 14-year-old boy, appeared uninjured but was transported to the hospital as a precaution. The driver of the Honda Civic sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the Kia Sportage, Craig Sale, sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at Desert Valley Hospital at around 7:44 a.m.
The collision was said to be caused by the 14-year-old driver failing to stop at a stop sign.
