Hesperia Package Theft Caught on Home Surveillance

HESPERIA – Package thefts have become increasingly prevalent throughout the Victor Valley and surrounding areas. The chances of these thieves being brought to justice were slim until surveillance footage has become more common in single-family homes. Laquita Brundage-West was a recent victim of one of these crimes when boxes that contained her children’s Christmas gift were stolen off of her porch on Wednesday.

At around 1:30 p.m. a male subject got out of his white Ford Explorer, walked up to the porch not once, but twice, and casually walked off with a large box each time.

Brundage-West said that her home is located near the Hesperia Airport. “ We installed cameras after walking out of our house to our garage to find people in our garage,” said Brundage-West.  She received a notification from UPS and Kohls that packages were delivered at her home. When her husband arrived home, the packages were gone which prompted him to review their home surveillance footage. “Someone forgot Christ and thou shall not steal”, said Brundage-West.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Hesperia Police Department at (760) 947-1500. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78CRIME (27436) or you may leave information on the We-Tip website at
