On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, Victor Valley Station deputies responded to a Helendale home for an altercation. When deputies arrived they found that two females were involved in a dispute, one of the females being an unidentified elderly woman and the other being Jessica Nicole Rodriguez.
Through investigation, deputies learned that Rodriguez answered a Craigslist ad seeking a caregiver for the elderly woman. Rodriguez was hired and subsequently helped the elderly victim move from a convalescent home into her residence. The two had been living together for six weeks during which time Rodriguez became verbally abusive to the victim. When the woman called 911 on Wednesday, deputies learned that the victim was threatened by Rodriguez.
Rodriquez was arrested for elderly abuse and booked at High Desert Detention Center where she is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
