HESPERIA – A 25-year-old Adelanto man was stabbed by a suspect wearing a hockey mask on Sunday night and the assailant remains at large.
On Sunday, October 31, 2016, just after 9:00 p.m. the victim was in front of the Circle K, located at 8197 I Avenue in the City of Hesperia when the unknown suspect approached him on a bicycle. It is unknown at this time if any words were exchanged, but soon after approaching him, the suspect stabbed the victim and then fled the scene on the bicycle.
Details on the suspect description are limited, all authorities knows is that the suspect was wearing a hockey mask and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
An area check was conducted, but the suspect was not located. The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain unclear. The victim was airlifted to a trauma center for his injuries. The victim’s sister would like answers and wants the person responsible arrested, “ My brother is stable, he has a chest tube in to keep his lung inflated,” said Petra Sandoval. “The attack was pretty bad, it could have killed him if the stab wounds would have been any closer to his heart.”
Detectives from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to contact the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station at 760-947-1500 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at 760-956-5001 or remain anonymous by contacting We Tip at 800-78-CRIME.
