HIGHLAND – The We Care Specialty Pharmacy in the City of Highland was robbed at gunpoint by suspects who fled with medication on Tuesday morning.
Deputies from the Highland station received the report at around 9:30 a.m. and responded to the pharmacy located at 7223 Church Street. Witnesses said that two black men wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks, entered the pharmacy. Both black male suspects were armed with semi-automatic handguns.
Suspect #1 described as a 20-25-year-old black male adult, who is approximately 5’7” tall and thin build pointed a gun at the victims and demanded prescription drugs. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie, dark pants, and an unknown type of facial covering. Suspect #2 was also approximately 20-25-year-old, 5’6, heavy build and was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie, dark colored sweatpants, and an unknown facial covering.
After gaining possession of the prescription drugs, the suspect fled south from the business on foot toward Baseline Road. Both suspects entered and unknown make and model or model blue sedan and fled north on Church Street. A witness stepped outside to get the vehicle description, the suspect discharged a firearm.
No injuries were reported as a result of the discharge of a firearm. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area on the southbound I-210 freeway near the Highland Avenue on ramp.
