SAN BERNARDINO – The body of a 22-year-old San Bernardino man was located in a San Bernardino flood control channel on Tuesday afternoon, officials said. At around 2:35 p.m. a County Code Enforcement Officer was doing a weekly check of several San Bernardino flood control channels.
When the officer reached the flood control channel underneath the South I Street bridge north of Oak Street he located Dilan Lopez lying in it. It was determined that Lopez was deceased. The code enforcement officer notified the San Bernardino Police Department. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division assumed the investigation.
The cause of the death is pending the autopsy findings of the San Bernardino County coroner. Investigators are also speaking with the family of Lopez to determine his whereabouts prior to his death.
