BARSTOW, Ca. – A second suspect was arrested on Thursday for the June 10, 2019, murder of Emmanuel Galindo.
On June 10, 2019, at around 12:36 a.m., Barstow Police responded to the 900 block of Flora Street for the reporting of a shooting victim. When they arrived they found Emmanuel Galindo suffering from major head trauma. Officers provided aid to him until paramedics arrived. Paramedics from the Barstow Fire Protection District attempted to preserve Emmanuel Galindo’s life, but he died as a result of his injuries.
Homicide Detectives arrived to assume the investigation and learned that two male suspects forced entry into the home. They entered the victim’s bedroom and assaulted him before fleeing the scene. Evidence was collected from the scene. Less than a week later on Sunday, June 16, 2019, police responded to the 300 block of Grove Court regarding the stabbing of Jose Galindo, Emmanuel Galindo’s brother. Jose Galindo sustained several stab wounds and a female was also found to have a stab wound on her arm. Jose Galindo died as a result of his injuries, the female victim was treated at Barstow Community Hospital for her injury.
Juan Velazquez, the female’s ex-boyfriend was identified as the suspect involved in the stabbing and it was learned that he went to her home on June 16, 2019, and found her with another male. Jose Galindo was stabbed while he laid in bed. The female sustained the wound as she attempted to intervene. On Sunday, June 16, 2019, Velazquez was arrested for the murder of Jose Galindo. He remains in custody as he awaits trial.
The investigation into the murder of Emanuel Galindo has been ongoing and through the search of electronic evidence, Juan Velazquez has been linked to a 17-year-old male. On August 29, 2019, detectives located and questioned the teen. A search warrant was obtained for his home and during the search, evidence related to the murder of Emanuel Galindo was found. Velazquez’s vehicle, which was used during the June 10th murder, was located and processed for evidence. Evidence was collected linking Valazquez to the murder.
The investigation revealed that the teen and Velazquez were the two males who forced entry into the home and assaulted Emanuel Galindo, believing he was Jose Galindo who was in a relationship with Velazquez’s ex-girlfriend. On September 5, 2019, charges were filed against Juan Velazquez and the 17-year-old juvenile were charged for the murder of Emmanuel Galindo. The 17-year-old was located in a vehicle at 1:38 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019, and he was arrested and booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center in Apple Valley for murder.
