CORCORDAN, Ca. – An inmate who was incarcerated for the sexual assault of a child was murdered by another inmate at a Corcordan Prison on Thursday.
On January 16, 2020, at around 2:34 p.m. correctional officers at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, and State Prison, Corcoran (SATF), Facility A learned that two inmates had been attacked by another inmate. Jonathan Watson, 41, who is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder according to prison officials, attacked the two other inmates using a weapon.
Both inmates sustained multiple head wounds as a result of the attack. Despite life-saving measures, and quick transport to the hospital one inmate died as a result of his injuries at around 4pm. The second inmate is currently in critical condition. David Bobb, 48, was serving life in prison for the aggravated sexual assault of a child of a child under 14 years of age.
SATF’s Investigative Services Unit and the Kings County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
