Lomitas Elementary School Proctor Arrested for Allegedly Molesting Young Family Member

APPLE VALLEY – A proctor at Lomitas Elementary school was arrested on Monday for suspicion of the sexual assault of a child.

Dominique Samson Butler, 24, was arrested at his home in the 500 block of Virginia Way in the Town of Apple Valley on Monday afternoon. Authorities will only say that the victim was a member of Butler’s family who was under the age of 14-years-old at the time of the incident(s). Butler was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Lewd and Lascivious Acts with Minor under the Age of 14. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Victor Elementary School District has placed Butler on leave after learning of the allegations against him and according to district officials is working to assist the sheriff’s during their investigation. “Although law enforcement believes this to be an isolated incident, the district and the investigators are requesting the public’s help to determine if there were any other victims,” said school district officials in a statement. “Victor Elementary School District remains determined to providing the safest possible environment for our students.”
