LONG BEACH – A physician, who was working in Long Beach as a resident physician was arrested on Wednesday for sending a sexually explicit image to an officer posting as a 16-year-old girl.
The disturbing incident occurred online when the officers were seeking out sexual predators in an attempt to protect juveniles and stop potential offenders before further communication and/or meetings with the juveniles take place. Jonathon Ellis, 35, of Long Beach, who studied medicine in Henderson Nevada was arrested at around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. Authorities have not released where Ellis was practicing medicine.
Although Ellis was released on $85,000 bail on Wednesday evening he is facing four felony counts of distributing or showing pornography to a minor and one misdemeanor count of arranging a meeting with a minor for a lewd purpose. Ellis is scheduled to appear at the Downtown Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
