Major Traffic Collision Shuts Down Highway 395

UPDATE: At 8:42 a.m. CHP officials said that all lanes of Highway 395 were reopened to traffic.

VICTORVILLE – One woman was airlifted with major injuries after a head-on traffic collision with a semi-trailer truck on Highway 395 just north of Crossroads Way at around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The female driver of the dark blue Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was reported to be trapped in the vehicle and required extrication to remove her.

Both vehicles, a semi-trailer truck, and the pickup truck sustained major damage. 

The woman was removed from the vehicle at around 12:05 a.m. and was transported by ground ambulance to Mesa Linda park in preparation to be airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Hazmat was called for an approximate 100-gallon diesel fuel spill from the semi-truck and a sand truck was requested to absorb the spill.

The driver of the semi-trailer truck was uninjured. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Investigation Team (MAIT).

Highway 395 was closed down in both directions from Palmdale Road to Seneca. Motorists heading southbound on Highway 395 should make a right turn on Seneca Road, make a left on Pearmain Drive, make a left on Palmdale Road and make a right on Highway 395 south. Drivers going northbound on Highway 395 should turn left on Palmdale Road, take Pearmain Drive right, and take Seneca Road right and make a left turn on Highway 395 north.
