Male Shot in Chest by His Mother in Pinon Hills

PINON HILLS – A male subject was airlifted after being shot in the chest by his mother on Friday night. The incident was reported just before midnight by the mother of the victim who told dispatchers that her son entered her home through a dog door in the 8400 block of Zohra Canyon Road in Pinon Hills.

She then reported, per scanner traffic, that she believed her son was going to attack her so she shot at the wall first, then shot him in the chest. The male victim was reported to be awake and breathing.

When deputies arrived they located the male victim and requested an air ambulance with a landing zone at the Stater Bros. Market in Phelan. Medics arrived at the scene just moments later and said that the victim had a gunshot wound to the chest with no exit wound. They also indicated that the male subject was fully responsive at the time of transport. He  was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center for the treatment of his injuries.

The age of the male subject is unknown at this time. There is no other information available at this time, additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
