VICTORVILLE – A male pedestrian sustained major injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening. At around 5:17 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station, AMR, and the San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel responded the collision on Bear Valley Road near Cypress Avenue.
When they arrived they located a badly injured male pedestrian lying in the #3 lane of Bear Valley road. Through investigation, deputies determined that the driver, Jaqueline Camacho, was driving westbound on Bear Valley Road when the pedestrian entered the roadway attempting to cross in front of her.
An air ambulance was requested to land at the scene, and the pedestrian was airlifted with major injuries to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle suffered minor abrasions to her arms and was treated at the scene. Alcohol, drugs, or speed were not a factor in this collision.
Bear Valley road was closed in both directions until around 10:40 p.m. for the Victorville Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) investigation. This is an ongoing investigation by the .
