ADELANTO – An Adelanto man was arrested for assaulting an Adelanto High School student causing bruises to the student’s face authorities said. The high School student arrived at school Monday morning with bruises causing school officials to report the injuries to the School Resource Officer Deputy John Hayes.
Deputy Hayes made contact with the student and learned that Sidney Maurice Dixon, 48, of Adelanto assaulted the student over the weekend. The unreported assault reportedly took place in the 11100 block of Tolliver Way in the City of Adelanto.
Dixon arrived at the school during the investigation and he was interviewed by Deputy Hayes. Following the interview, Dixon was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Corporal Injury to a child. Dixon posted bail and was released just before 9:00 p.m. the same day. It is unclear if Dixon is related to the victim in any way.
