VICTORVILLE – A 34-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for punching and then hitting his ex-girlfriend with his vehicle on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred when at around 1:24 a.m. Francisco Garcia arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s home in the El Dorado Court in the City of Victorville. Authorities said that when the female victim woke up to Garcia standing in her bedroom with a gun pointed at her face.
Startled, the woman stood up and Garcia punched her in the face. The woman temporarily lost consciousness and when she regained consciousness, she walked out to the front of her home. Garcia was sitting in his vehicle so she approached the vehicle. Just as she was walking toward the vehicle, Garcia accelerated and hit the victim causing her to roll over the vehicle hood. The victim sustained various injuries.
The suspect fled the scene and was later located at his home in the 17500 block of Orange Street in the City of Hesperia. Garcia was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon and for inflicting corporal injury. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
