SAN JACINTO – San Jacinto Avenue was closed for several hours after a man in a wheelchair was hit by a vehicle and killed on Wednesday afternoon. At around 4:05 p.m. the San Jacinto Police were dispatched to a traffic collision on San Jacinto Avenue north of Midway Street in San Jacinto. Through investigation police learned that the man was crossing San Jacinto Avenue in his wheelchair outside of the crosswalk when he was hit by the northbound traveling vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene. The male pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after. Alcohol or drugs are not a suspected factor in this incident. The San Jacinto Police Department requests anyone having additional information regarding this incident to call Deputy Cortez at 951-654-2702.
