LAKE SILVERWOOD – A Glendora man was rescued by a Sheriff’s helicopter after he was injured in an off-road traffic collision on Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly before 2:37 p.m, Gregory Knapp was involved in the collision on the Cleghorn Truck Trail. The reporting party told dispatchers that Knapp, the driver of an off-road vehicle rolled his vehicle around 200 feet off the side of the trail. Knapp sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. The Sheriff’s helicopter – 40King6, responded to the scene to help locate Knapp. When the crew arrived, Knapp was located on the road where his vehicle left the trail.
“ It was later learned that witnesses had assisted him from his vehicle and transported him back to the trail,” Sheriff’s officials said in the news release. A Firefighter Captain made contact with the victim to assess the injuries. He was transported to the Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment and is expected to recover.
