MARIPOSA, Calif. – A Mariposa man pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old girl who he met on Facebook.
Miles Lee Imamura, 25, of Mariposa pleaded guilty on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, and is expected to be sentenced to eight years in prison. In addition, he will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Imamura was arrested in March at the teen’s home.
He had been in contact with the child on Messenger on Facebook asking her for explicit photos and making arrangements to meet for sex. Several times during the conversations he asked her to delete the messages, the sheriff’s office said. He told her so that he did not get into “trouble”.
Imamura and the 13-year-old victim did meet for sex at least two times. District attorney officials said that the Imamura picked up the girl at her home and drove her to his place, where he stood for several hours. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 16, 2019.
