Family Assistance Program

HEMET – The remains of a 37-year-old San Jacinto missing man were located on Saturday Riverside County Sheriff’s Department officials said. Jerome Salgado was last seen on Friday, May 20th in the Hemet area and was reported missing two days later.

Detectives began looking for Salgado but were unable to locate the missing man until the Hemet station deputies received a call Saturday afternoon regarding the finding of possible human remains located in the area of Indian Creek Truck Trail  and Ridge Truck Trail on the Soboba Indian Reservation

The location was confirmed to be a graveside by the Central Homicide Unit and they returned to the area the following morning at around 6:00 a.m. due to the nighttime darkness in the area. The area was processed and the remains of an adult man, later identified as Salgado were recovered.

The death was determined to be caused by traumatic injuries and is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with any information that may be pertinent to the investigation should contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Hemet Station at (951) 765-2400.
