APPLE VALLEY-While executing a search warrant law enforcement from the Town of Apple Valley Police Department and Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team found evidence of outdoor Marijuana cultivation. Resulting in the arrest and a myriad of charges for four adults ranging in age from their late 30’s to early 60’s.
A team of investigators comprising of the Town of Apple Valley Police and the Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on Friday, November 11, 2016, at the 117000 block of Cottontail Lane in Apple Valley.
Investigators detained and interviewed Samlan Chaidy, 63 of Apple Valley the renter of the property. Chaidy told investigators that he and his wife live on the property and he planned to use the property to sell and process marijuana after it was harvested on the property. He hired Khiosadalo Bounvilom, 45 of Apple Valley and his brother Vanhsay Bounvilom, 37, of Apple Valley to process and harvest the marijuana.
When investigators arrived at the location Vanhsay fled and hid from them. While searching for Vanhsay authorities were informed that a 2-year-old child was also on the property and in the care of Vanhsay. Vanhsay eventually surrendered without incident to authorities and the 2-year-old child was recovered unharmed.
The mother of the 2-year-old child arrived at the property while investigators were at the location. The mother, Kinnalone Phrakovsonn, 44 of San Diego was arrested for Child Endangerment based on the evidence gathered on the property.
Investigators found over 150 marijuana plants and an estimation of around 50 pounds of marijuana had been harvested on the property. The suspects involved were arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center. The suspects bail amounts ranged from $75,000 to $100,000. The 2-year-old child was placed in the care of the San Bernardino County Children and Family Services. The parents of the 2-year-old child will have to attend a court hearing to regain custody of their child.
At this time investigators are charging the suspects with charges varying from Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sales and Child Endangerment. The case will be reviewed by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office to decide what criminal charges the suspects will have filed against them.
