VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A traffic collision on National Trails highway took the life of one person after the vehicle lost control early Wednesday morning.
At around 1:33 a.m. deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the area of National Trails Highway, just north of the 15 freeway for the report of a traffic collision. It was learned through investigation that a silver colored Honda Accord was traveling northbound on National Trails Highway at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control while navigating the curve in the roadway. The loss of control caused the vehicle to slide across oncoming lanes of traffic and over a dirt embankment. The vehicle overturned several times, tossing the driver from the vehicle.
The ejected driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The investigation of the collision is ongoing. National Trails Highway north of Interstate 15 and south of Air Expressway was closed in both directions for several hours while the scene was processed for evidence and interviews were conducted.
Anyone with information or any witnesses to the collision is asked to contact Deputy A. Hylin at the Victorville Police Station.
