DAGGETT-A Man was arrested by Sheriff deputies after being the suspected shooter of a victim in a Daggett trailer park.
On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at around 3:00 p.m. Barstow Sheriff deputies responded to a report of a victim being shot in the 35000 block of Sante Fe St. in Daggett. When deputies arrived at the location they ascertained that 35-year-old, John Potter Hernandez of Newberry Springs was the alleged shooter. He has an extensive criminal history including drug and robbery convictions
As of right now, deputies believe a physical altercation with the unidentified victim was the motive for the shooting. The victim was shot during this altercation with Hernandez. Hernandez was seen running from the scene by deputies north of the location through the desert to the Desert Springs RV Park. Hernandez was placed into custody inside one of the trailers at the Desert Springs RV Park. He was then transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder.
