VICTORVILLE – One man is dead following a shooting in the area of Civic Drive and Roy Rogers Drive in the City of Victorville on Friday afternoon. At around 4:54 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station were dispatched to the report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the parking lot of the Home Depot located in the 15600 block of Roy Rogers Drive.
When they arrived they located a black man down suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Through investigation, authorities learned that multiple gunshots were fired and the victim was shot during the incident. The victim, whose identity is not being released at this time, was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. Authorities said that the shooting suspect was not alone at the time of the shooting and they all left together in a black 4-door vehicle.
Homicide investigators were dispatched to the scene to assume the investigation. No additional information is available for release at this time. Residents are on edge due to the recent rash of crime in the area including the In-N-Out and Stater Bros. robberies both in close proximity of this incident and both occurring just one day prior to this fatal shooting.
