APPLE VALLEY – One of two Apple Valley attempted burglary suspects was arrested after the resident reported the suspicious activity at their home on Monday.
At around 9:30 p.m. the resident in the 16200 block of Chiwi Road noticed two male suspects lurking in the front and backyard of their home. One of the suspects then attempted to open the back door. The victim, who had already reported the incident to 9-1-1 operators, walked toward the door to confront the suspects.
The deputies arrived while doing so causing the suspects to flee from the victim’s yard into the neighbor’s yard. Angel Espino, 27, was quickly detained by responding deputies. He was arrested for attempted burglary and a probation hold. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, where he is being held without bail. The second suspect remains unidentified and remains at large.
