VICTORVILLE – Two were arrested after a verbal altercation led to a shooting on Sunday night.
At around 9:12 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the 12300 block of Glenwood Lane in the City of Victorville for the report of a man being shot at. When they arrived they learned that a 34-year-old male victim was involved in a verbal altercation with Johnny Hicks, 38, of Ontario. The victim reported that Hicks pointed a handgun at him and fired multiple rounds. The victim was not hit and called 911 to report the incident. Hicks learned that the victim called the police and a woman at the scene later identified a Parvaneh Jones handed him the keys to her car so that he could flee the location.
When deputies arrived they located Jones sitting in Hicks’ car in possession of the firearm. The Sheriff’s helicopter, 40-King-7 and ground patrol located Hicks on Little Beaver Street and detained him without incident. Hicks was found to be a convicted felon and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault on a person/with a firearm, willful discharge of a firearm/with gross negligence, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition. Jones was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for conspiracy to commit a crime. Both are scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on May 15, 2018.
