PALM DESERT – A 25-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested for a grand theft at the Westfield Mall on Monday after a month-long investigation authorities said. On June 18, 2017, Michael Docanto Salas allegedly stole from the mall located at 72840 Highway 111, in Palm Desert.
An investigation revealed that Michael Docanto Salas was the suspect in the theft and he was subsequently arrested on July 11, 2017. A search warrant was also served on his home, in the City of Palm Desert where stolen property was located and collected.
Salas was booked into the Indio Jail for Grand Theft. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Deputy Mills at the Palm Desert Police Department at 760-836-1600, or they can call anonymously at 760-341-STOP (7867).
