RIVERSIDE – A 36-year-old Perris man was arrested after a burglarizing two homes in the 2100 block of Prince Albert in the City of Riverside on Monday afternoon.
At around 2:40 p.m. officers responded to the home regarding an in-progress residential robbery. When they arrived they learned that the male suspect, later identified as Ricardo Ferguson, entered the home and was confronted by the resident. The startled suspect fled the scene.
Dispatchers received information that an alarm was activated at a second home. As police responded, an officer made contact with the suspect as he was exiting the backyard of the home. Through investigation, it was determined that the suspect entered the unoccupied home setting off the alarm. Ferguson was positively identified by the first homeowner and eventually admitted to being inside both homes.
He was booked into jail for residential burglary.
