VICTORVILLE – A 44-year-old Phelan man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after pulling a knife on two men at Mesa Linda Park in the City of Victorville.
On Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. deputies responded to the park located in the 13100 block of Mesa Linda Drive. When they arrived they learned that Hector Sanchez began displaying odd behavior. The two men told him to back away and Sanchez took a knife out of his backpack. He began swinging it at the men until the men were able to detain him until deputies arrived. Sanchez was transported to the hospital for observation and while there, on September 16, 2018, he pushed a hospital staff member.
Sanchez was subsequently arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Battery. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Battery on a Person.
