YUCAIPA – A 24-year-old naked Yucaipa man was arrested after breaking down the front door of a home occupied by a woman and her teen daughter.
On Sunday, September 16, 2018, at around 10:25 p.m. deputies responded to California Street and Yucaipa Boulevard in response to a report of a naked white man who walked up to a vehicle and grabbed the door handle. The woman driver, drove away with the man holding the handle until he was thrown onto the pavement.
Deputies searched the area, and while searching a call was received reporting that a naked man had broken into a home in the 3500 block of Avenue A. Authorities determined that the suspect, later identified as Kyle Mayfield had broken into the home through the locked front door. A woman and her 17-year-old daughter were inside of the home. Neighbors saw the man breaking into the home and ran into the home, grabbed Mayfield and took him outside and detained him on the front lawn of the home.
Deputies arrived shortly after to Mayfield, who was still completely naked and fighting off the neighbors who were detaining him. Mayfield appeared to be under the influence of an unknown controlled substance. He was transported to Redlands Community Hospital where he was medically cleared and subsequently booked into the Central Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of $125,000 bail.
