PINON HILLS – A 17-year-old Phelan boy was placed under arrest while at his school on Monday authorities said.
The boy was accused of raping a 17-year-old female while the two attended a birthday party on Saturday night in Pinon Hills. The 17-year-old girl told authorities that she had attended the party along with the male suspect who she knew prior to the party. During the party, the two smoked marijuana and were drinking with several other attendees. The victim stepped outside sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. The suspect followed the victim and when outside forcibly raped her, leaving her lying unresponsive on the driveway of the home.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and the suspect fled the location prior to the deputy’s arrival. After the investigation, the suspect was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Rape. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be added officials said.
