PINON HILLS, Ca. – A Pinon Hills man was arrested for commercial burglary after burglarizing the Phelan Post Office on Wednesday.
At around 12:49 a.m. a report was made indicating that a male subject, possibly a transient, was loitering in the post office. When the deputy arrived he found 36-year-old Jesse Schneider inside with a black bag next to him. Upon further inspection the deputy noticed that the mailboxes surrounding him had been pried open. Inside the bag the deputy found Schneider’s mail, mail belonging to several others, a screwdriver, metal chisel, and pliers, which authorities believed were used during the commission of the crime. Inside Schneider’s pocled, the deputies located a locking mechanism from one of the mailboxes.
Jesse Schneider was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center. He was later released on his Own Recognizance.
