Pomona Man Arrested for Trafficking Teen for Prostitution in San Bernardino County

SAN BERNARDINO – A 23-year-old Pomona man was arrested on Wednesday for trafficking a 17-year-old girl for prostitution authorities said.

The investigation began on June 8, 2017, when the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force began surveillance on the teen girl who was involved in the commercial sex trade. Posts for the victim were posted on backpage.com, advertising for prostitution services.

Investigators contacted the female victim and she agreed to meet with them on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in the City of Ontario. When she arrived, she was with two male subjects, one identified as suspect Myles Collins who was waiting in the vehicle. Collins was determined to be the primary suspect in trafficking the victim and was taken into custody, while the other subject was determined to be uninvolved.

The victim was learned to be a runaway who was interviewed and subsequently returned to her parents. Collins was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Felony Human Trafficking. He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

This investigation is ongoing.
