CHINO HILLS, Calif. – The man killed in a Friday night shooting in Chino Hills has been identified.
On Friday, May 17, 2019, at around 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to 3850 Eucalyptus Avenue for the report of a shooting. When deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived, they found Shermaine ‘Mayne’ Thompson, 25, of Pomona, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Pomona Valley Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries at 1:53 a.m.
Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation and learned that Alejandro Cesarez, 23, of Chino Hills, and Thompson were involved in an argument. Cesarez produced a handgun and shot Thompson. Cesarex left the home on foot, but was taken into custody shortly after.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is being released at this time.
