POMONA, Calif. – A 21-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man was sentenced to 21 years in prison for a shooting at a house party that killed a Pomona man.
On June 16, 2017, Timothy James Molano McKinney attended a party at Joseph Aguilar’s home on the 500 block of East McKinley Avenue in the City of Pomona. Aguilar and McKinney’s friends got into a fight, according to court testimony. The altercation continued outside of the home with McKinney’s friends got into a fight McKinney produced a handgun and shot Aguilar.
Partygoers called 911 and 33-year-old Aguilar was taken to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. McKinney was arrested and was convicted of voluntary manslaughter by a jury last month.
