REDLANDS – The Redlands Police Officers’ Association donated $2602.33 to help encourage the community to stay active through the participation of sports. The donation will go to help with repairs to the basketball equipment inside the Community Center’s gymnasium. The donation will also assist in the funding of additional basketball programs including Midnight Hoops, a program co-sponsored by the Redlands Police Department.
This Midnight Hoops program is a free program for residents of all ages, providing a safe environment for youth and young adults to play basketball throughout the summer. The program is sponsored by the Redlands Police Department, the City of Redlands, and Second Baptist Church. The summer basketball fun will be every Friday beginning Friday, June 12, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m until July 28, 2017.
For more information about Midnight Hoops or to inquire regarding open basketball times, please contact the Redlands Community Center at (909) 798-7572, e-mail Recreation Division staff at RecreationStaff@cityofredlands.org or visit our Facebook page at City of Redlands Recreation
