RIDGECREST, Ca. – A Ridgecrest woman was arrested for arson and attempted murder after allegedly setting a home on fire.
On August 30, 2019, at around 2:10 p.m., officers from the Ridgecrest Police Department responded to the 100 block of W. Wilson Avenue for the appearance of smoke. When they arrived they heard someone screaming for help. The officer attempted to get inside the home, but the front door was locked.
Two citizens approached to assist the officers and helped to force the front door open. The victim was located in his wheelchair near the doorway and was removed from the burning home. The fire appeared to be suspicious in nature. Andrea Doss, 32, of Ridgecrest, was determined to be the suspect. She was arrested and transported to the Central Receiving Facility in the City of Bakersfield.
