RIVERSIDE – A Riverside man was arrested following a routine traffic stop of a vehicle with vehicle code violations.
On Friday at around 1:50 a.m. a Riverside police officer on patrol near Norwood and La Sierra Avenues attempted to stop the vehicle driven by Steven Grijalva, 30. They activated their lights signaling for the vehicle to pull over.
Grijalva, a convicted felon, threw tossed a loaded shotgun out of the passenger window, and subsequently pulled over. Officers conducted the high-risk traffic stop and were able to detain Grijalva and retrieve the gun. He was booked into jail for possession of drug paraphernalia, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and other weapons violations.
