RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A Riverside man was arrested on Thursday for the armed robbery and attempted armed robbery of Riverside businesses.
On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, the suspect entered the Christy’s Donut in the 8100 block of Arlington Avenue and demanded money. The suspect had what the employee believed was a firearm. He fled the business with around $100 in cash. The following day, on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, the same suspect entered a Metro PCS store that is located in the 4200 block of Van Buren Boulevard. He brandished a firearm and demanded money from the register. The suspect fled with around $150 in cash.
A day later, on Thursday, July 18, 2019, he went into Wienerschnitzel restaurant in the 5700 block of Van Buren Boulevard, brandished a firearm and demanded money but fled before receiving any money.
An area check was conducted and the suspect was located riding a bike on Colorado Avenue and Dundee Road. He was detained and identified by the employees, he was also found in possession of an airsoft handgun. Anthony Michael Martinez, 26-years-old of Riverside, was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for two counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery.
