RIVERSIDE – A 32-year-old Riverside man was arrested after a stabbing in the 8800 block of Cypress Avenue on Monday afternoon.
At around 2:00 p.m police responded to a call reporting a possible altercation, but they arrived to find no suspects or victims at the location. Shortly after, police dispatch received a notification that there were two stabbing victim’s who self-transported to the hospital. One of the two stabbing victims sustained wounds that were serious in nature, authorities said.
Police learned that there was an argument between three people and one of them produced a knife. “Family members of the individual, who produced the knife, had convinced him to return to the location and provide a statement to the officers,” Riverside city police officials said.
The male suspect, later identified as Robert Auten told police he was responsible for the stabbing, which subsequently led to his arrest. He was booked into jail for the assault with a deadly weapon.
