ORO GRANDE – A Victorville teen was arrested on Tuesday morning after making threats toward other students at Riverside Preparatory High School. Deputies from the Victor Valley Station received information about the threats made to other students by Austin Roach, 18, on Monday evening.
According to Sheriff’s officials, the statements were severe and threatened the safety of students. The school administration was made aware of the threats made by Roach, who they were familiar with. In order to protect the students and staff against any possible problems, deputies and detectives went to the school at the beginning of the day on Tuesday to speak with Roach.
Through investigation, evidence substantiating the threats was location. No weapons were found in Roach’s possession. Roach was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for criminal threats and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
