ADELANTO – Two were arrested and one remains at large after an Adelanto Candlewick Apartment fight which led to shots being fired authorities said. On Saturday, December 10, 2016, deputies responded to the Candlewick Apartments located at the 11200 block of Chamberlaine Way in the City of Adelanto reference a fight involving approximately 20 subjects.
When they arrived the parties involved were no longer fighting. Deputies conducted an investigation and were able determine that Janet Wydner, 35, of Adelanto brandished a shotgun at the crowd while threatening to shoot the subjects in the crowd. Wydner fled prior to deputy arrival. Deputies located and recovered a shotgun hidden in a vehicle, The investigation also led to Jerrell Johnson and Robert Rogers Jr., both of Adelanto being named as suspects. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
On Monday, January 23, 2017, the Victorville District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and filed charges of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon against all 3 suspects, Janet Wynder, Jerrell Johnson and Robert Rogers Jr. and warrants were obtained for all three. Jerrell Johnson was subsequently arrested in Riverside County and transferred to the San Bernardino County Jail and is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail. On Tuesday, February 14, 2017, Janet Wynder was contacted by law enforcement at the Victorville Superior Court. Wynder was arrested as a result of the warrant and booked into the High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $1,500,000 bail. Robert Roger Jr. remains at large and authorities are seeking information leading to his arrest.
