UPDATE: San Bernardino Police said that thanks to the help of the public, Zaghian is back in custody.
SAN BERNARDINO – A Patton State Hospital patient escaped from the facility on Thursday morning and authorities are asking the public to report any sightings of him.
At around 4:30 a.m. the San Bernardino Police Department was notified by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation that Vaheh Zaghian walked away from an off-site rehabilitation center located in the 400 block of Gilbert Street.
Zaghian is described as an Armenian man who speaks limited English. He is 47-years-old, 5’9” and 148 pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan colored shirt and pants with Patton State Hospital markings. Authorities said that Zaghian is classified as a low security risk by Patton State Hospital and has no prior escape history.
Anyone who comes into contact with Zaghian, or with information as to his whereabouts, is asked to call the San Bernardino Police Department at (909) 384-5742 or their local law enforcement.
