VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A fully loaded semi-truck overturned yesterday, shortly after exiting the northbound 15 freeway at D Street in the City of Victorville.
The traffic collision that shut down the roadway into the late afternoon occurred at around 6:10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2020. The driver said that he was unable to stop at the red light as he exited the freeway off ramp. He turned the steering wheel attempting to go east on D Street. Sheriff’s officials said that as he turned the semi overturned to its side as a result of the speed.
“The driver of the semi suffered some cuts and abrasions and he had complaints of pain,” said Mara Rodriguez, the Victorville Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman. “He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His passenger was not injured.” Rodriguez said that no other vehicles were involved in the collision. The roadway in the area was closed so that they could continue to remove the contents of the load and tow the semi from the roadway.
