HESPERIA – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner said that the body found in the aqueduct on Monday evening has been identified 62-year-old s Michael Paul Croy.
Croy was observed by a passerby who saw him floating in the Aqueduct on Main Street near Escondido Avenue in the City of Hesperia.
Both the Aviation and Dive teams searched relentlessly to no avail. The search was called off on Saturday evening due to the harsh conditions and lack of visibility during the night. The search resumed on Sunday and was again called off with Croy presumed deceased.
Sheriff officials said that the body of Croy was found against a flow restriction gate near Farmington Street and Seventh Avenue, approximately four miles from where he was last seen.
The family is asking for help to lay their father to rest as well as for the care of his beloved dogs who they will be adopted. The family of Mr. Croy has set up a go fund me account to raise funds for these unexpected expenses.
