LAKE ELSINOR, Calif. – A Riverside woman lost her life after being involved in a traffic collision with a street sweeper vehicle.
On Friday, March 8, 2019, at around 3:37 a.m., Lake Elsinore Police responded to a traffic collision on State Highway 74 near Mermack for the report of a traffic collision. When they arrived, they learned the Toyota SUV collided with the street sweeper. The driver of the SUV, identified as Linda Diaz, 30, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision. Both directions of Highway 74 were shut down for approximately 6 hours for the investigation.
