LAKE ELSINORE, Ca. – A man narrowly escaped serious injury or death as a result of the quick and compassionate response from Lake Elsinore deputies.
On Sunday, May 17, 2020, sheriff’s dispatch received a call for service in the area of Pasadena and Crane Street in the City of Lake Elsinore. When they arrived they located a badly damaged vehicle that had crashed into a fire hydrant and a brick wall. Deputies quickly determined that the crash was not accidental but was caused by a suicidal man.
Deputies approached the vehicle in an attempt to make contact with the driver, who was distraught and inflicting wounds to his wrists. The deputies and emergency medical personnel were able to subdue the male subject enough to transport him to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
