RIVERSIDE, Ca. –The suspect involved in the murder of a 23-year-old New Orleans, Louisiana man, in the Downtown Entertainment District in the City of Riverside has been identified and arrested.
On Sunday, August 18, 2019, at around 2:00 a.m., the Riverside Police responded to the report of gunshots heard near Mission Inn Avenue and Orange Street. When they arrived a short time later, they located the male victim, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Although officers, emergency medical personnel, and hospital staff attempted to save his life, Manuel Mukes died several hours later at a local hospital.
Detectives developed leads, eventually identifying the suspect as Daniel Bowman, 22-years-old of Los Angeles. In addition, Deshean Jackson, 25, of Carson, was arrested for parole violations and was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center. Both Jackson and Bowman are being held without bail, and Daniel Bowman is also currently being held without bail.
This investigation is currently ongoing and there are no further details to release at this time.
