A juvenile who was already on probation was arrested for attempting to carjack an elderly woman in the Town of Apple Valley.
On Sunday, July 7, 2019, at around 12:06 p.m. Apple Valley Station deputies responded to the report of an attempted carjacking near Zuni and Wanaque Roads. The 71-year-old woman told deputies that she was driving in Zuni Road when she saw several black male juveniles in the road. She slowed her vehicle and stopped. A 15-year-old boy approached her vehicle and placed the barrel of the gun to her head. He demanded a ride to Victorville and she fled the area in her vehicle. The woman called 911 to report the incident.
Deputies both ground and air searched for and located the male juvenile. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center for violation of PC 664/215, attempted carjacking.
