RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A meeting for a potential car sale turned into an attempted armed robbery when a victim declined to purchase a vehicle Saturday evening. At around 5:45 p.m. deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga station responded to the attempted armed robbery in the 9200 block of Archibald Avenue.
The suspects pulled out a knife and demanded money from the victim, who decided not to purchase the car, officials said. The victim told the suspects, 22-year-old Hollywood resident Kori Windham, 23-year-old Lake Forest resident, Dakota Halverson and 22-year-old Lancaster resident, Calvin Cadle that he was going inside his business to get the money. The victim fled the location and called the police.
Deputies responded and located the three suspects and arrested them for armed robbery. In addition to the armed robbery charge, Halverson also faces charges for threatening to commit a crime which would result in death or great bodily injury. All three were booked at the West Valley Detention Center and are being held in lieu of $100,000, They are scheduled to appear at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior court on Tuesday morning.
