VICTORVILLE – A Victorville transient and two others were arrested after a botched armed robbery at a Victorville liquor store on Saturday. At around 11:45 p.m. Kenneth Duane Wolfe, 41, walked into the Victor Valley Liquor and Jr. Mart located at 15315 Tamarack Drive in the City of Victorville armed with a handgun. Wolfe then demanded cash and merchandise from the store clerk, The clerk complied, but employees were able to separate the suspect from his firearm and subsequently detain Wolfe until deputies from the Victorville Station arrived.
Deputies located two additional suspects waiting in a vehicle nearby. Richard Arreola and Kimberly Padilla were taken into custody without incident. When they arrived they took Wolfe into custody and located two others waiting in a nearby vehicle. Richard Arreola, 33, of Adelanto, and Kimberly Padilla, 33, of San Tan Valley, Arizona were also taken into custody. Wolfe was also identified as the suspect involved in a robbery on September 9, 2017, at a gas station on La Paz Drive in the City of Victorville.
Wolfe, Arreola, and Padilla were booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Wolfe was booked into jail for robbery, possession of a controlled substance while armed, felon in possession of a firearm, gang member carrying a loaded firearm, and alteration of manufacturer’s serial number.He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail .
Arreola and Padilla were booked for conspiracy to commit a crime. Arreola was learned to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for an unrelated conviction at the time of the robbery. All three are scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
